U.S. Army Colonel Emblem Coin
Description Each U.S. Army Colonel Challenge Coin is struck in eye-catching shiny brass with vivid color enamel. Even when not in uniform, every soldier can proudly carry this symbol of Army pride on their person, or proudly display on their desk or shelf. Officially Licensed with the United States Army, you can rest assured that the symbols of rank are displayed with honor. The obverse bears the distinctive “full-bird colonel” insignia worn on the shoulders or collar, representing a senior officer typically in command of a brigade or regiment. The “Bird” emblem is a silver eagle holding an olive branch and arrows, based on the Great Seal of the United States, symbolizing national authority, power and the balance between peace and war. Officially adopted in 1832, it represents the O-6 rank, often called a “full-bird colonel” to distinguish it from a lieutenant colonel. The reverse features a full-color rendering of the U.S. Army seal. Struck in a shiny brass alloy, this coin is accented with bold enamel on both sides. Each coin measures 1.75 inches (44mm) in diameter. This coin is packaged in our signature Ranger Industries protective polymer coin flip. Official Licensed Product of the U.S. Army. By federal law, licensing fees paid to the U.S. Army for use of its trademarks provide support to the Army Trademark Licensing Program, and net licensing revenue is devoted to U.S. Army Morale, Welfare, and Recreation programs.
